Houndstooth are delighted to announce that the Houndstooth DXR-1K five zone detection system has passed evaluation against the NPSA Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems Detect, Track and Identify (DTI) Testing and Evaluation Standard and is now included in the NPSA Catalogue of Security Equipment (CSE).

Houndstooth’s system is reliable, effective and efficient and offers high performance per £.

• It provides early detection and warning of the presence of both drones and controllers, with zone based tracking and identification information to assist with decision making.

• A simple intuitive user interface enables a map-based display with configurable alerts for audible spoken messaging, SMS text and email output.

• Compact and light weight sensors with plug-and-play features allow for quick and easy installation to existing power and network (PoE) infrastructure and low installation overheads.

The Houndstooth DXR-1K system is low cost, with pricing comparable to CCTV systems.

Associated British Port's Port of Southampton partners with drone detection specialists Houndstooth Wireless

ABP's Port of Southampton is partnering with drone detection specialists, Houndstooth Wireless. Active since September 2021, Houndstooth’s drone detection solution helps ABP Southampton gain valuable insights and scope drone activity in the port. Ben Toomer, Security Manager at ABP Southampton, says “We are excited to be working with Houndstooth on this project as we continuously improve safety and security for our port and customers. Houndstooth Wireless wins a share of £25 million from Innovate UK to deliver disruptive R&D innovations that can make a significant impact on the UK economy. Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, drives productivity and economic growth by supporting businesses to develop and realise the potential of new ideas. Houndstooth Wireless develops low cost, plug-and-play drone detection technology to bring straightforward, commercially viable counter-drone solution to the mass market - similar to CCTV and other perimeter security devices.

2020 Award (Jan-Sept 2021)

Houndstooth Wireless wins 2020 T-TRIG competition to undertake a ground-breaking R&D project in line with UK Government priorities. Houndstooth Wireless develops and applies mesh networking technology to allow deployable drone detection over wide, complex geographic areas. Mesh networking offers a significant reduction in setup and through-life costs by removing the requirement for a user to hardwire and explicitly configure the network.
